Baby Bella Mushrooms 

Mushrooms are not something I grew up on. I had no idea how to cook them, but I’m becoming more comfortable with making them. 

Mushrooms became somewhat of a necessity because of their high vitamin D count. When you live in Alaska vitamin D is impossible to get for about 8 months of the year, which is why I am now a mushroom making fool. 

The secret to mushrooms is to have tons of liquid fat. Mushrooms are little sponges so you really need to use more fat than you think. I usually use butter but I’ve also used bacon grease and olive oil. 

Ingredients:

12 OZ baby Bella mushrooms 

1 stick butter (Use real butter!)

1 tsp garlic 

Salt and pepper to taste 

Feta cheese (optional) 


Slice up your mushrooms and place in large skillet. 

Cut your stick of butter into smaller chunks and add to pan. 

Sprinkle garlic, salt, and pepper. 


Cook on medium low heat until soft. I usually cook them for about 20 minutes. 

Remove from heat and sprinkle feta. Serve immediately! 

This is a quick easy side that contains few ingredients! Simple cooking makes life much easier!
